NewOrleansFellowsProgram
During this eleven-month Christian leadership-development and training program, ten young men and women live together and work in the community while they explore how Christ has called them to serve others in this unique urban setting. The Fellows typically work in local non-profit organizations, chosen with regard to each Fellow’s area of interest, under the direction of Christian community leaders. The Fellows are also enrolled in advanced theological and urban studies coursework and participate in an ongoing dialogue with some of the most-respected men and women involved in urban Christian ministry. The coursework is designed around the founding principles of the Christian Community Development Association. Those principles are Living Among the People, Reconciliation of the People to God, Just Distribution of Resources, Leadership Development, Listening to the Community and Asset-Based Community Development, Church-Based Community Development, Holistic Approach and Empowerment.
Each Fellow receives a community mentor whose rich life-experiences and mature Christian worldview help the Fellow develop his or her own plans and goals. Weekly roundtable discussions and shared meals provide the Fellows a chance for sharing and community with one another and program leaders. Through this intensive program of work and study, Fellows are equipped for a lifetime of service in Christ’s kingdom through work, ministry and daily life.
Before entering the program, each Fellow is required to raise $6,500 in program support to meet costs related to training courses, retreats and study materials for the program. The tuition may be paid by the Fellow or may be raised in the same way support is raised for a mission trip. Support contributions to the Fellows Program are tax deductible and are due August 1, 2010.

Application Deadline – May 31, 2010.
Program from September 1, 2010 – August 6, 2011.
